WHY ARE YOU WORRYING ABOUT THINGS THAT YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER?

Matthew 6:25-32; “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if GOD so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, what shall we eat? Or, what shall we drink? Or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek): for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the Kingdom of GOD, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Ambition is a strong desire for achievement.

  1. Ambition is necessary for completing tasks and achieving goals, even unto the LORD:

  • Colossians 3:23; "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the LORD, and not unto men."

Ambition is dangerous when it is used for the pursuit of self-exaltation and notoriety.

  1. This produces affectation, which is behavior that is artificial and designed to impress:

  • James 4:6; "But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, GOD resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble."

Selfish ambition causes compromise of YAHWEH’s standards to achieve personal desires.

  1. Selfish drive and determination lead to defying YAHWEH because the flesh wars against His plan: Romans 8:8; "So then they that are in the flesh cannot please GOD."

When we are driven by selfish ambition, we become ungrateful and strifeful.

  1. A person that continues to seek self-gratification is discontent: Proverbs 28:25; "A greedy man stirs up strife, but the one who trusts in the LORD will be enriched."

Seeking carnal accolades and the approval of others makes us unthankful of what we have and causes us to seek more.

  1. Yet, if we are thankful for what we have, then the opinions of others will not matter:

  • 1 Thessalonians 5:18; "In everything give thanks: for this is the Will of GOD in Christ Jesus concerning you."

  1. Being unthankful fuels selfish ambition and dependence on our own abilities rather than trusting YAHWEH for what He has promised: Psalms 118:8; "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."

We should never be anxious for things, but rather thankful for what we have.

  1. This is the correct posture to ask YAHWEH for what we need: Philippians 4:6; "Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to GOD."

YAHWEH knows we need food and raiment. He will provide for these needs.

  1. But we must make sure that we are not praying for YAHWEH to supply our needs in such a manner that will fuel our selfish ambition: James 4:3; "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts."

We should pray for YAHWEH to bless the work of our hands so that our labor can produce provision.

  1. Being ambitious about doing a good job is pleasing to YAHWEH and will keep us blessed: Job 1:10; "Hast not thou made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land."

Yeshua stated that YAHWEH will take care of His people. Throughout the Old Testament, YAHWEH’s people desired what the pagans had. This made them discontent and ungrateful, but their selfish ambition caused them to go after false gods. But ultimately, YAHWEH’s people ended up in bondage to the pagans because of their desire to have what they possessed. When we are selfishly ambitious and seek to satisfy our carnal lusts, then our flesh will always lead us into bondage. Yeshua ended his sermon in Matthew 6 by saying, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of GOD” which is the Will of GOD, and then YAHWEH will add to you. He was saying that once you line up with YAHWEH’s plan and walk in it, you will be in a position to be blessed.

YAHWEH provides an increase for the betterment of the Kingdom, not for selfish ambition or carnal recognition.

  1. After all, what YAHWEH allows us to have should bring Him glory, not us:

  • Psalms 119:35-37; “Make me go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight. Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness. Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity, and quicken thou me in thy way.”

I WOULD RATHER BE UNCOMFORTABLE IN YESHUA...THEN COMFORTABLE WITH SATAN!!

"IF YOU'RE NOT WINNING SOULS FOR YESHUA...YOU DON'T WORK FOR YAHWEH...YOU'RE SELF-EMPLOYED!!"
